RIVER REBEL (WORKING TITLE)
Set in a dystopian river community, fifteen-year-old Chara Wren attends her Day of Dunking ceremony, where she is expected to commit her life to the Sage Maria community. But her father, the Senator who leads the ceremony, is mysteriously absent. At the river, Chara witnesses him being kidnapped by the son of a powerful logging mogul, a rising dictator desperate to make a name for himself. He forces his destructive agenda onto the Sage Marians, leaving Chara and the villagers in peril.
As Chara faces one hardship after another, she begins to question who she is, the world she has grown up in, and the people she has trusted. Then, she discovers a relic that offers a glimmer of hope. But will it be enough to dismantle everything the dictator has set in motion?
